Maria Marinakis
I was once like many of my clients - high achieving, working on multiple projects at a time, making other people and companies rich from my hard work, expertise, and self-sacrifice. The problem was that I was burning myself out and had no time or energy to work on my own projects or have much of a personal life.
I no longer had time to work out, hike, spend time with friends, play piano, or even sleep properly. It seemed that month after month and year after year, I kept putting off all of the wonderful, creative, and fulfilling projects and personal goals that I wanted to accomplish for myself. I found myself at midlife wondering where all that time went. I got real with myself as I saw friends my age dying from stress, overwork, cancer, heart attacks, and even suicide. I knew there had to be a better way to work at the things I love most and earn a living that would give me financial freedom and peace of mind. I started by setting the foundation for freedom by giving my life a High Performance Tune-Up - the very same program I’m offering to you now.
Many of my clients dream of starting their own business, but they're too exhausted from giving everything to their 'day job' to make much progress on their most important goals when they get home. There's always some chore to get done and piles of mail and bills to go through, not to mention family obligations - so many things they HAVE to do that they never seem to get to the things they WANT to do. The physical, mental and emotional clutter are overwhelming. They don't even know where to begin. Once they begin to systematically clear out the distractions, the feeling of overwhelm is lifted and they are free to begin strategically planning for their most important goals.
You need to act on this now because each minute you spend on the hamster wheel of busy-ness will turn into an hour, a day, a week, a month, and even years. How will you feel next year if you're still in the same place, feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and somehow not quite fulfilled?
Princeton University Neuroscience Institute published results of their January 2011 study in a report titled, “Interactions of Top-Down and Bottom-Up Mechanisms in Human Visual Cortex” in The Journal of Neuroscience. The report basically concluded that clutter restricts your ability to focus and limits the brain’s ability to process information. Clutter also distracts you so that you are unable to process information as well as you would in an uncluttered, organized, and serene environment.
In an article published on Be Brain Fit, (https://bebrainfit.com/declutter-stress-health/), the discussion was much of the same. The author quoted research conducted with MRIs and other diagnostic tools that showed that clutter affects the brain’s ability to concentrate and process information. A UCLA study concluded that clutter has a strong effect on mood and self-esteem. Clutter is a stressor that impairs the ability to think creatively. Dr. Sherrie Bourg Carter, author of High Octane Women, reports that clutter robs of mental energy, leaving you feeling anxious, tired, and overwhelmed. It ruins your focus and concentration, taking attention away from what’s important and reminding you that your work is never done.
Once you gain some momentum in de-cluttering your physical environment, you’ll also discover that you can make some extra money just by selling the things you no longer use that are taking up space, serving as clothes hangers (like that treadmill that seemed like a great idea at the time), etc.
You’ll understand exactly why you don’t need to buy anything else you don’t truly need and save money in the future.
You’ll rediscover time you never knew you had because you were too busy being distracted or overwhelmed by things that really don’t matter to you – whether physical clutter, social obligations, or social media and technology time-sucks, etc. You’ll stop wasting time looking for things and/or feeling stressed, guilty, or overwhelmed with commitments.
Once you tune-up your life, you’ll be able to focus better and no longer feel like that hamster on the busy-ness wheel.
You’ll have more time and focus to plan and strategize better, so you no longer keep putting off achieving the goals most important to you.
With your life and business in order, think about how good you’ll feel to wake up each day with more time to spend on things that matter most to you.
You’ll finally have the time and energy to work out and take better care of your body and health, spend more time with the people you love and be fully present, enjoy the hobbies and personal projects you kept putting off, and more.
See yourself sharing with your friends how you’re right on track to doing more of what matters to you and achieving your most important and meaningful goals.
Every minute you wait is another minute you’re choosing to stay in distraction and keeping yourself from getting closer to your most meaningful and fulfilling goals.
